Virginia Tech vs N.C. State 

April 24-25, 2026 

Friday night: Brett Renfrow (17) tossed eight scoreless innings as the Hokies beat N.C. State, 4-0. Renfrow was named ACC Pitcher of the Week after that performance.

Saturday afternoon I saw three innings of baseball before the rains came and suspended play.

Ben is in his sophomore year at Virginia Tech

Last week I went to pick him up for Thanksgiving break and brought my camera along. Took a nice walk around campus and snapped pics. Great day to walk and get your steps in! I also had to pay a visit to the Therapy Dogs. They are awesome! Nothing beats a dog hug. I am loving this university and am so glad Ben chose Virginia Tech!

                                       

November Travels

I went to Virginia Tech to pick up Ben for Thanksgiving break. It will be his first time home since we dropped him off back in August. His first semester is going by fast! He will be home a little over a week. 

This trip I decided to stay overnight as with the time change it gets dark a lot earlier now. It was relaxing and fun catching up with Ben over dinner Wednesday night. 

While Ben was in class on Thursday morning, I took a walk around campus. It was cold and windy and while the walk felt great, this gave me a chance to reassess Ben's Winter clothing options for the next few months. Sweatshirts and hoodies won't cut it walking across Drillfield in mid-February. Thankfully LL Bean still mails out catalogs so we will be sure to go through it and order things he needs over break. 

The drive to and from campus was uneventful, which is always good. I will take Ben back on the Friday after Thanksgiving as we are going to the football game on Saturday vs UVA. Happy Thanksgiving!
