Ben's 8th Birthday Weekend

Been awhile since I posted but this past Friday Ben turned eight year's old. Weena and I took Friday off as Ben had the day off from school (Teacher Professional Day) so we took full advantage of a nice, crisp Fall day.

We went to Cox Farms, had lunch, played putt putt golf and had a nice dinner out after stopping by Toys R Us so Ben could pick out his present. I promised to take him to a Caps game real soon as part of his birthday present. On Saturday Ben played soccer for his U8 team, the Dragons. Very nice weekend!

PS- Not sure why these photos aren't lining up properly.

In addition to scoring the only goal for his team in a 1-1 draw, Ben played goalie the last quarter. 4 shots, 4 saves and confidence in each save. He said he wanted the challenge to play between the pipes and his coach gave it to him.

Arlington National Cemetery

I've been wanting to re-visit there for quite some time. I have two Great Grandfather's and a Grandfather there and it had been some time since I went so yesterday I took a trip over. It is a great walk and the history there is unreal.

I plan to go back to visit the Civil War part of the cemetery and a couple other places there as well.

This is best viewed as a slide show. Please click on any photo. For some reason these didn't load correctly via Blogger. I'll try to re-align them better...

The Caps

Another Spring, another playoff series with the New York Rangers. That's four in the last five years. The Caps won in 2009 and 2011 and the Rangers took last year's meeting in seven games.

So far this series, the Caps lead two games to one with game four at Madison Square Garden Wednesday evening and game five this coming Friday evening at Verizon Center. I'll be there and will bring my camera to see if I can get anything interesting from my seat.

Here are a couple from the 2009 series. This was taken with a Nikon D40, my first camera where all I knew them was to point it and shoot.

Stay tuned and Let's Go Caps!!!
